Debbie Garratt FNP-C ABAAHP
Debbie M Garratt has been in practice for more than 30 years. She attended St. Mary’s University and Kennesaw State University. She completed her graduate studies at Georgia State University and achieved a top 100% score on her national boards from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She spent several years in the Emergency Department, Coronary and Intensive Care, functioned in the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist, Interim Head of Cardiology Department for two years, Assistant Professor teaching graduate studies at Georgia State University 1997-2005 including: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Women’s Health, Pediatric and Family Health. She has also had the opportunity to provide care in Alaska, Africa, and homeless populations. At the end of 2005, she was thrilled to relocate to the Wood River Valley with her beloved husband and four year old son. She had the pleasure to combine her past educational and health care endeavors and apply them in a true family practice. She had relocated from Atlanta, Georgia which for the previous decade was mostly HMO type of care. Although this care was science and evidence based, it did not give much room for individual variations to take the patient's unique needs into account. Also, it was based on providing care for a large population base. When here, she joined the family practice of Dr. Nancy Parry and quickly grew her family practice. She enjoyed that while Dr. Parry was a trained surgeon, she also incorporated alternative treatment modalities to her practice. In 2013, Debbie began a fellowship with Metabolic Medical Institute University of South Florida. Following course work in Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Inflammatory Disease, Gastroenterology, etc.. completed national boards in 2015. Upon completing course work in 2018, became a Fellow in Anti-Aging Metabolic Medicine. She is dedicated and honored to work closely with her amazing staff to provide comprehensive, compassionate, holistic care to their patients and families. Sadly, she lost her beloved husband in a plane accident shortly after relocating to the Wood River Valley. Her son is now attending Western Washington University majoring in classical voice and opera performance.
